1. Who we are

MindTheDesk (also “Mind The Desk”, mindthedesk.com) is a western United States local news and community network operated by OSIBytes Group LLC under the BuildOryx brand family. Headquarters area: Bountiful, Utah.

2. Objectives

• Deliver timely local and regional news for western US communities (city desks and state hubs).
• Support local business through directory listings, classifieds, events, and paid advertising.
• Operate a transparent ad network (MindTheDesk Direct + Code-Oryx partner fill) with measurable views and clicks.
• Provide free public access to news while sustaining the service through subscriptions, commercial tools, and advertising.

3. Articles & content sources

Local / MindTheDesk articles are created or curated by our staff or authenticated publishers and are marked with a Manual / MindTheDesk source. These may include original reporting, community submissions after review, and desk briefs.

RSS / syndicated articles are collected from third-party feeds. Titles, descriptions, and images remain the property of their original publishers. We display attribution and, where available, a link to the original source. Syndication does not imply endorsement.

We may edit headlines for clarity, deactivate items that violate policy, or expire content automatically. Article view counts are internal metrics based on page views recorded on our servers; they are not third-party audited Nielsen/Comscore ratings.

Community standards: no illegal content; no child sexual exploitation; no promotion of drugs, gambling, pornography, or graphic violence in user-submitted material. See also our advertising agreement.

4. Advertising

MindTheDesk Direct ads are sold for placement on mindthedesk.com. Default pricing is configured by administrators (historically $100/month per advert or prepaid 31-day options) and may change. Billing may use Stripe and/or invoices via accounts.osibytes.com.

Code-Oryx network ads may appear between or instead of Direct ads when inventory is open. Network rates and packages are published on code-oryx.com.

Customer creatives require admin approval. We reserve the right to reject or remove ads that violate Utah-based community and child-safety policy. Metrics (views/clicks) are collected for reporting; period filters for clicks use our click log where available. View totals on ads are lifetime counters unless otherwise noted.

5. Classifieds, directory & events

User listings may be held for moderation. Owners and admins can disable listings. We are not a party to transactions between users. Fraudulent or illegal listings will be removed.

6. Privacy & data

We use cookies/sessions for login, CSRF protection, analytics (e.g. Google Analytics where configured), and advertising measurement. Contact form submissions are emailed to our desks. Do not send passwords or sensitive financial data through the contact form.

California residents may use “Do Not Sell or Share” links where provided by our CMP/consent tools.
