Judge throws out plea deal for former Chubbuck church leader accused of child sexual abuse

A district judge rejected a plea deal for Virgil Larson, a former Chubbuck church leader accused of sexually abusing six minors. The proposed agreement would have reduced Larson's charges and exempted him from sex offender registration in exchange for probation. With the deal thrown out, Larson is scheduled to stand trial on six felony counts on January 12, 2027.
