A 67-million-year-old Tyrannosaurus rex fossil nicknamed "Gus" has become the world's most expensive dinosaur fossil after selling for a record $50.1 million at a Sotheby's auction in New York. The sale surpassed the previous record held by the stegosaurus "Apex," which fetched nearly $45 million in 2024, and also eclipsed "Stan," the famous T. rex skeleton that sold for nearly $32 million in 2020.
