Bountiful Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Alleged Attack on Mother

​A 29-year-old Bountiful man is in custody facing first-degree felony attempted murder and second-degree felony aggravated assault charges after allegedly stabbing his mother multiple times during a domestic dispute.
​According to the arrest affidavit, the victim’s husband reported hearing his wife scream. Upon entering the room, he witnessed the suspect’s brother wrestling the assailant to push the knife away and prevent further harm.
​Following his arrest, detectives interviewed the suspect, who admitted to the stabbing. The affidavit notes that regarding the attack, the suspect stated, "it wasn't a happy ending, but it wasn't remorse."
​The suspect has been booked into the Davis County Jail. The victim underwent emergency surgery and, at last report, remains in the Intensive Care Unit, where she is intubated and unresponsive. The suspect's name has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
