Sunday Drive: On the shoreline of Lake Bonneville

A stand of golden grass swayed in the evening breeze as we ventured into a broad mountain meadow high above the Salt Lake Valley. Looking west, golden-hour clouds drifted over Antelope Island, framed by the rugged silhouette of the Stansbury Mountains. Far below, Salt Lake City International Airport looked like a child’s toy set.
