By Mindy Weisberger, CNN (CNN) — When marine biologist Shane Gero spotted a plume of blood spreading across the water where a group of sperm whales had gathered in the Caribbean, he feared the worst — injury to one of the whales, perhaps from a predator attack. But then he saw something unexpected and extraordinary
