Numbers behind DUSU result: CJP momentum doesn’t show up in Left’s vote tally

The DUSU election results highlighted a contest that extended beyond the traditional ABVP NSUI binary, with Independent Deepanshu Shokeen’s decisive vice presidential victory and close races in the presidential and joint secretary contests. The results also showed a decline in the AISA SFI alliance’s vote tally despite its prominent participation in CJP mobilisations and campaigns around student issues such as housing, examinations and accountability.
