Macron urges France, UK to forge closer bond as Bayeux Tapestry goes on display in Britain

French President Emmanuel Macron called on France and Britain to forge closer ties on Wednesday as he joined King Charles III and Prime Minister Andy Burnham to mark the historic loan of the Bayeux Tapestry to the British Museum. Macron said the two allies could build a bond “as close as the threads” of the 950-year-old artwork, which depicts the Norman conquest of England.
