With smartwatches and sleep trackers, readiness scores, recovery metrics, and viral “sleepmaxxing” advice, Americans are constantly searching for the perfect night’s sleep. But for some people, that pursuit is actually making sleep worse. The condition is called orthosomnia, an unhealthy obsession with achieving perfect sleep.
