Why 15-yo Sooryavanshi took charge as stand-in captain in Duleep semifinal

Teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi took charge as East Zone’s stand-in captain during their Duleep Trophy semifinal against Central Zone after Ishan Kishan suffered a thumb injury. Sooryavanshi, usually the vice-captain, embraced the responsibility after impressing with the ball in the quarter-final. East Zone also made a strong start, reducing Central Zone to 81/3.
