NASA launches Roman telescope to map 'a new atlas of the universe'

NASA on Sunday launched its Roman Space Telescope aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket, beginning a multi-year mission to create a vast new map of the cosmos. With a field of view far wider than Hubble’s, Roman will search for exoplanets and supernovae while also probing two of the biggest mysteries in physics: dark matter and dark energy.
