Geoffrey Hinton, the Nobel laureate known as the "Godfather of AI", says Elon Musk is right that AI will end most jobs. Speaking with Senator Bernie Sanders at Georgetown University, the AI pioneer warned of massive unemployment, arguing Big Tech's trillion-dollar data centre spending only pays off by replacing workers cheaply. Sanders estimates nearly 100 million US jobs face automation risk.
