US : Hawaii narrowly avoids direct hit as Hurricane Lala brings strong weather

Hawaii has narrowly avoided a historic direct hit from Hurricane Lala, but torrential rain and hurricane-force winds are still causing widespread flooding, mudslides and power outages across the islands.
