Made to share blanket with stranger on train, commission orders Railways to pay Rs 25,000

A consumer commission ordered Northern Railway to pay compensation to a passenger. The passenger received only one blanket and pillow for a shared berth. This action violated the railway's own circular regarding bedroll provisions. The commission found the railways guilty of deficiency in service. Compensation of twenty-five thousand rupees was awarded for inconvenience.
