'Every child deserves a childhood': The Christmas Box International launches Project Elf

Edmunds added that the concept of "Project Elf" is to collect Christmas wish list items and Walmart gift cards from the community and provide Christmas for about 3,000 children each year.

The project launched just before the Thanksgiving holiday and will continue to accept donations through Dec. 23.
