MT DEQ: Sheep Creek exploration project needs state approval

The company hoping to mine rare-earth elements and other minerals in the headwaters of the Bitterroot River can't start exploration work before getting a thumbs-up from the state, the Montana Department of Environmental Quality determined last week.
