Uber has laid off 10% of its customer support staff and told remote workers on the team to relocate to hub offices. It's the company's second round of job cuts in eight weeks, following a 23% reduction in its people division in June. For the first time, Uber has named AI as a reason—after burning its entire 2026 Claude Code budget in four months.
