Contract negotiations between Portneuf Health and Regence BlueShield of Idaho have stalled, and if no agreement is reached by June 15, patients with Regence insurance could face significantly higher out-of-pocket costs for non-emergency services. Portneuf Health has blamed "disruptive practices" by Regence for the delay, including delayed and unpaid claims, denials, down-coding, and repeated claim reprocessing. Regence has stated that Portneuf's parent company, Ardent Health, is demanding "unreasonable" rate increases.
