10 Missing, 6 Trapped: Massive search and rescue underway after Northern California avalanche

A massive search and rescue operation is currently unfolding in the Northern California backcountry after an avalanche swept through a group of 16 skiers Tuesday morning.

According to The Bee, a regional online newspaper, the group consisted of four professional ski guides and 12 clients. While authorities have established contact with six survivors, 10 skiers remain unaccounted for as emergency teams battle treacherous conditions to reach the survivors.
