"The Musical" is uniquely writer Alexander Heller’s sense of humor, developed over childhood exposure to Sundance comedies like “Little Miss Sunshine” and “Election,” so getting to premiere this film at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival in the U.S. Dramatic Competition is especially surreal, he said.
